Seidy Pedroso

Associate Researcher

Microbiologist, MSc. in Biotechnology and PhD in Physics with specialisation in Nanotechnology. He has more than 10 years of work in scientific research, specifically in projects focused on new drugs development. He has experience in the areas of cell and molecular biology, manufacturing, nanoparticles characterisation and functionalisation, as well as their use for the encapsulation of molecules with biological activity to generate greater long-term effectiveness. He has worked on research related to viral diseases, autoimmune diseases, cancer, and regenerative medicine.

He has taken courses and professional training in Cuba, Mexico and Chile, on a wide variety of topics, and has had multiple opportunities to work in multidisciplinary teams. Between 2018-2021 he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Universidad de ConcepciĆ³n, with funds awarded through the Fondecyt Postdoctoral grant. He joined LiveMatrix Biotech in 2019 as Associate Researcher, participating in the design of new products and in the development of drug encapsulation strategies in biodegradable polymeric nanosystems.
