Silvana Jiménez
Technology Transfer Officer & Researcher

Biochemist and PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Universidad de Concepción. With more than 10 years of experience working in research laboratories, she has participated in different R&D projects and has extensive experience in topics related mainly to the areas of protein expression, purification and analysis, and in conducting pre-clinical, in vitro and in vivo studies.

Regarding her international experience, she has taken specialization courses in the area of mass spectrometry at Imperial College London and worked at the National Institute for Biological Standards and Controls (NIBSC) in London, United Kingdom.

In addition, she was part of the team that formulated and was subsequently awarded an Institutional Improvement Project (PMI) for Universidad de Concepción, that allowed the creation of a Biotechnological Innovation and Technology Transfer Platform called INNBIO, where she has been working since the beginning, this has provided her with experience in the field of technology transfer and development of biotechnological businesses from a science perspective. In this same field and in search of constantly expanding her knowledge, she has taken courses with Oxentia, Global Innovation Consultant from Oxford, United Kingdom, entitled "Building University-Industry Relationships" and "Commercialising Technologies and Know-how".

On the other hand, along with the rest of the members of LiveMatrix, he has been part of the team that is creating the first Research and Development unit in Tissue Engineering for the Faculty of Biological Sciences at Universidad de Concepción.
